Tooth coloured restorations (fillings) are an effective and conservative way to restore broken teeth. It has been internationally recognised and accepted that the placement of metal/mercury containing fillings should be abolished, due to several reasons such as the individual's general health and environmental toxicity.

The science behind tooth coloured filling materials has moved on considerably. The strength and bonding of these materials mean less healthy tooth surface is removed and a minimal invasive technique can be used.
